Snow Emergency Correction

Here’s the link for the snow emergency notice.  It does NOT say anything about free parking at the Leo Roy Garage for city residents, despite what I’d been led to believe from the automated phone call just received. I think that Canal Place residents can get reimbursed for any parking charges during a snow emergency but I’d have to verify that.

If anyone knows just what the policy is and wants to comment, that would be appreciated!

  1. No reimbursements are ever given for use of city parking garages during snow emergencies or otherwise. The Roy Garage on Market Street has been excluded from city policies for free garage parking during snow emergencies for many years now, and is never free except during special promotions. (I think this week’s Thanksgiving deal is one example of that). To my knowledge, the only two city garages offering free parking to downtown residents during snow emergencies are the Ayotte Garage by the Tsongas Center, and the Early Garage on Middlesex Street. The fine print suggests the free parking is only for downtown residents without off street parking (hence, Canal Place does not technically qualify) but this is generally never checked.
