Amazon Delivery Question

A question from a resident. Please post any answers in the comments.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience having a bulky item delivered using Amazon’s “Special Delivery” method.  The delivery indicates “Inside Entryway” which says: “The carrier will deliver your package inside your residence in the first secure location next to the front door. An adult must be present upon delivery.” Further reading online indicates this can mean almost anything.  Has anyone used this method of delivery with success here?

Thanks!

  1. I wanted to follow up on this post so others can be informed. Amazon has a special delivery service called “Special Delivery”. This is only available for sales from Amazon direct. After you put the item in your cart, look for delivery methods. If you don’t see a special delivery option, the item may say “Prime” but is not sold by Amazon; it is sold by a third party. Look to the right and scroll down to other sellers. Look for “Sold by: Amazon.com”. Add this item to cart (note it may cost more). Then go to your cart and verify “Special Delivery”. Amazon will deliver you item on the day and time range you choose. In my case, I had a TV delivered. They placed the item inside my apartment. I’ll use this service again if I buy something like a sofa. This service is only available for bulky items.
