Is there any update to the completion of the rug replacements and water fountain?
I personally have heard nothing since the Annual Meeting. At that time, the Association was waiting for the contractor to make good on fixing the problems with the fountain before we would pay him the remaining $15,000 he was owed. The hope was that a debt that large would give him incentive to get it done. As for the carpeting, my understanding is that the new carpeting is done on the first floor and that the upper floors are budgeted but not considered pressing.
On the other hand, I am only speaking from memory and not from any inside knowledge. I’ll try to get to the next board meeting and get an update. There is no question that the fountain situation has become unappealing and annoying.
Just got back from the Board Meeting. Negotiations with the contractor to have the fountain fixed and finished are ongoing. So the answer is that the management is working on it. Hopefully we’ll see some results soon.
The carpeting on floors 2-6 is not part of the atrium project. The 6th floor was redone fairly recently; the hope is that there will be money in the budget for 2 other floors this coming year and the last 2 floors the following year.
